More Mother's Day Pics ...
I trust everyone had a lovely mother's Day with the family. My kids are not local but they did call to wish me a good day. Now what would Mother's Day Trip be without bringing something back to preserve. We wil be back to buy some cherries from this farmer. His apples were so tasty and juicy
What a lovely old tractor, 1958 model, just like me ... wish I had one of those. Farmer's not to bad either and he's single by the looks of it
Pink Lady apples are in season ATM, these are so juicy yummm
Just look what I can home with, Sonday .... Mother's Day I sat in the sun peeling and chopping ripe fruit. Still got enough persimmons left to make another 2 batches of jam and some for baking a loaf. The box cost $10 what a bargain ...
Preparing to cook a batch of persimmons for jam
Yummy Jars of Kiwi fruit and persimmon Jam.

It all looks so delicious! My Mom canned and I have done my share, too. There's nothing like it.
ReplyDeleteHi Rina, the apples and jam look great. Did you get them from Bilpin, always great produce up there, a lovely area. Might have to go and buy some apples to check out that farmer!!!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl, can't keep him to myself lol Bells line road on the left, just drive in if he's not out on the road, he said he wishes more folk would come in, right at the big shed and keep going. House on the left. The big dog woun't bite ya :)))
DeleteLOL I'm from 1958 vintage too!
ReplyDeleteLove your jam... though I have never tried Persimmon, no idea what it tastes like!
Oh gosh those look good. Those jars look like the ones I got used to using in America. did you buy them here in Australia? I would love to find some like that.
ReplyDeleteI got the little jars from Go low of all places for $12 a dozen, bought 5 packs of them so when you open the preserve cupboard it's going to just look so stunning ... I wish lol Check your store and let me know ours still has 8 boxes left can always send some up when we see the kids next holidays and you could pick up in Brisbane or post them to you
