Hi everyone,
Just a short post today. This last week has been just a little stressfull, one reason being Mom's not very well and asked I should come back home for a while. My ticket is booked and paid for, just about packed and ready. Will have to start saving again to recope the cost of flight, maybe it's time I go back to work again or take up raising free range meat chooks on a larger scale, maybe both. That's something to think about when I get back.
I will take my camera along and hope to capture a few pics to share. I must admit I am not really looking forward to this trip, Mom and I have not always seen eye to eye about a few things but as she's in her deep 70's, I have to go back. Maybe the problem is we are both strongwilled. Mom's lifestyle is very different from mine and my way of thinking, she would rather sit reading the newspaper or a magazine where I would rather tend animals or make something. This is the time I wish I had other siblings to share the responsiblity of an ageing parent. It's a good 15hr trip, lucky it is a direct flight to Johannesburg (South Africa) The return flight is booked for the 23rd Febuary.
This will be my last post for a while
See ya when I get back
Rina
God Bless You and your Mom.
ReplyDeleteHello Rina, Recently I traveled 2 days to visit my mother in a Nursing Home in NSW.She is 93yrs and has always been strong willed and opinionated. I wanted to see her as this is right, she deserves respect..however, I didn't look forward to it. But it turned out well. My hubby and I picked her up and took her for a long drive to my nephew who she wanted to see. We had a lovely lunch before getting her back in time for her tea. She enjoyed the outing. I pray all goes well for you and your mum..
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and wishing you both well.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to SA - albeit briefly :)
Wishing you all the best in your travels and your visits. You have a heart of gold...keep it open and all good things will enter. Don't worry about the funds, you can do so many things and good fortune will find you quickly! x Kari
ReplyDeleteAll off the best for your travels. Although it may be difficult (emotionally and financially) I am sure you know you are doing the right thing. Welkom terug in Suid Afrika. Hoop jy geniet jou kuier onder Afrika son. Eerder jou gemengde gevoelens nou as wat jy spyt het dat jy dit nie gedoen het nie. Laat weet hoe dit gaan. Lekker bly, Chantel
ReplyDeleteSending you positive thoughts Rina - to you and your Mom.
